I was born in Atlanta, Georgia where I attended Fulton County Schools first through fifth grades.  For middle school, I attended Christ the King and for high school, St. Pius X.  After high school, I earned a B.A. in English with minors in Spanish, History, and Art from Sewanee (The University of the South).  For 27 years, since 1991, I have been teaching high school English in Sumter County.  In my personal life, I have two sons, now 21 and 17, and have been married for 28 years.  I have many interests including travel, yoga, backpacking, swimming, bike riding, writing poetry and short fiction, and painting and drawing.  Most recently, I have become a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and intend to continue my training with yoga beyond my career in teaching English.
