On September 22nd our ASHS JROTC Raider Team traveled to Taylor County to participate in the first 2016-17 Raider Competition.

The ASHS team competed against seven other SWGA High Schools and took home first. The ASHS team turned in an incredible 1:16 time in the "One Rope Bridge" event, where ten cadets had to construct a one rope bridge over a simulated 45 foot creek, cross over, then tear down the bridge. They also competed in the 200 Yard Litter Carry event, logging a time of 46 seconds. In this event five cadets had to tie a simulated casualty (90 pounds) to a litter, then run one hundred yards with the litter and two one gallon gas cans before passing it off to another team who had to return to the start point.

The ASHS Raider Team was very excited to place first at the meet. Their season is off to a great start. Congratulations to the ASHS JROTC!
