for a student who could not or did not purchase their own. Students will
get a card before winter break telling them that someone purchased them
a book. When books are distributed in the spring, they will open it up
to find a special message on the inside cover from their "secret santa." Yearbook Ads are not just for seniors!

Congratulations to our Panther Band. They received Straight Superior Ratings this weekend at the Coastal Empire Classic in Springfield Georgia. They received 2nd place awards in Drum Major, Colorguard, Percussion, and in Visual Performance. They received 1st Place Awards in Music and Overall Effect. They were also awarded Best in Class out of 4 bands. Overall the band placed 3rd out of 13 bands. This has been an outstanding year, it is the first time that the band received best in class at each of the 3 band competitions! Great job band, we are so PROUD of YOU!
READ 25 BOOKS! We kicked off our state standard of reading 25 books each year with a BANG! Mr. Duke revamped a Michael Jackson song to "Read It" and the ASHS Singers created and performed accompanying choreography. Andrew is shown above, impersonating Michael Jackson. All students performed a "Read Wave," and Mrs. U. Mitchell won the drawing for hosting the new "Mobile Library."
