Americus-Sumter High School students were recently treated to a recruiting presentation courtesy of the United States Navy.

Navy Recruiter Robert Keeffe and Nuclear Field Coordinator Cale E. Long spoke on the wonders and benefits of nuclear power. The two men presented a slide show which included a primer on how nuclear fusion works and various ways the Military implements it in day-to-day operations.

The recruiters informed students on various career options currently offered by the Navy in the field of Nuclear Power, and what steps they should take to pursue a Navy career.

The formal presentation lasted about an hour and was followed by an informal question and answer session where students interacted with the recruiters and filled out applications to request further information.
